I must say that I am really grateful that 2012 is now over. Actually, it was not a bad year, just the last couple months were HELL!
My job assignment ended a week and a half before Christmas and as I was budgeted very tight anyway, that last paycheck before Christmas had to go to rent so I had about $20 to spend on Christmas. Lanie was the only one who got anything and then that was pretty skimpy. But Grandma and Grandpa made up for it and she had a wonderful time. Nothing too extravagent but she had fun. But Sunday before Christmas our plumbing got messed up and we could not use the facilities at all. We had to do dishes in a bucket and dump it out, do our business and flush it into a bucket and dump it out. We could not take showers so went to the YMCA to do that, could not wash clothes so wore them way too long before changing into something clean. Yeah, this was a fun Christmas. It was not fixed until the Friday after Christmas. I took the longest shower in my life after it was fixed. We are now very grateful for our plumbing facilities.
There is a lot I would love to say about my assignment ending but I am really trying to be positive and trying to believe that something better is out there for me. That is really hard because I am so old now that I don't think there is such a thing a better anymore. I keep hoping that my agency has something in store for me.
