The Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Buttercream was good...it was chocolate! The cake part was great...the icing was too sweet for me but everyone else loved it. It was gone by Tuesday.
The Pineapple upside down cake was good, very sweet but again every one really liked it and it was gone the first day. I did not get a picture of this cake...brain fart I guess.
This weeks cake is my favorite by far...GERMAN CHOCOLATE CAKE! The cake part was amazing and I could have eaten the whole thing by myself but the icing...OMG!! So incredible. My co-worker calls it a "food-gasm". Yes, so, so, so good!
And now some news about Lanie...of course. Lanie started Kindergarten on August 12, a Wednesday. She had two really, really bad days. The principal was even talking about sending her back to Pre-school that maybe she was just not ready for Kindergarten. She said that she talked to Lanie, trying to find out what the problem was and Lanie just proceeded to argue with her for 15 full minutes! Yep, that is our Lanie Lou. They call the kids Mr. or Miss "last name". Nonnie told the principal that that is part of the problem. Lanie does not like to be called Miss Jacquez. It upsets her greatly. The principal said that if that is the problem, they will call her Miss Adams. Of course all her paperwork will have to have Jacquez on it but they would call her Miss Adams. On Friday she had a great day and then went back to school on Monday and has been just fine since! We really did not expect that to solve all the problems but it seems to have been a miracle worker!
Also, a bit of good news...The accident that I had a few months ago is getting ready to settle and lo and behold we will get enough from that settlement to pay for the remaining portion of Lanie's adoption that we needed. We are truly grateful. I guess if I had to have an accident this is a good outcome for it! We are very excited and when we told Lanie she was excited too, in fact when I put her to bed that night, she put her arms around my neck and whispered "I can't wait until you are my mommy!" I of course cried!
