Update on the family

I am not being very diligent in blogging.  I guess we just do not have enough happening in our lives to warrant it.

It is just 2 weeks until Lanie turns 5 years old.  Lillie (my chihuahua) will be one and Lanie wants to have a picture of her and Lillie on her birthday cake.  I have a really cute picture of them together but cannot get it to upload.

That weekend Toni and her family and Oneita and her family are coming to celebrate our family Christmas.  It will be a full weekend celebrating Christmas and Lanie's, Lillies, Bobby's and Oneita's birthdays.  I am looking forward to seeing them all and all the chaos it will bring.

I am still at my job at Metal Recovery.  I am liking it a lot.  I need more to do but I think that will come with time.  I get up looking forward to coming to work and spending my day here.  It is a good feeling to finally like my job again, to feel as though I am part of a team and not just a peasant!   A few weeks ago we had a yearly planning meeting and I was invited and able to go...AND participate!  My opinion mattered!  I told our Quality Control person that I felt like I had finally been accepted in with the popular kids!  I know that sounds so stupid but just to feel like an important part of the decision making team feels really great.  I may regret that at the end of the year if we do not succeed at the goals we made and the blame is laid, at least partially, at my feet.  But...what if we do make or goals or even surpass them?  How great will I feel to be a part of that?!

On to my weight obsession...I have now lost 39 pounds and 28 inches.  My pants are not literally falling off of me.  Lillie will grab the leg of my pants and pull and down come the pants that are just barely hanging on my hips.  I have invested in a few new clothes but don't really want to invest too much money in clothes that will hopefully not fit me in a few months.  Although I must say, it is not coming off as quickly as I had hoped and my new pants that I just bought in December will fit me for at least 6 more months.

My workouts have suffered over the past 5-6 weeks because I was so sick in December and into most of January with an upper respiratory infection that seemed to drag on forever.  When I finally got over that I started exercising too much and pulled muscles I did not know I had and was in pain for over a week with that!  I have just not had a really good beginning to my year in the area of exercise.  But I am back in action now and plan to take it slower but diligently.  The weight may not come off fast but it will come off!!

Good news that I would like to brag about is my neice Toni will graduate with her bachelors degree in May of this year!  We are all very proud of her and wish her all the luck in the world to continue on!

I hope to have some more pictures after the family comes that I will post.
